In the beginning of 2021, the world was still trying to come to terms with the pandemic, businesses were fighting to stay agile and the digital medium had grown exponentially as it was the only medium that people around the world could stay connected and monitor how each country was dealing with the pandemic. Due to this, most businesses were changing the communication approach to digital but the “how” was the pertinent issue.

The Nation Africa Digital Summit therefore was seeking to bring together diverse stakeholders and sought after experts in the digital world to share relevant learnings and frameworks to deliberate on and implement a digital ready roadmap across industries. The digital summit examined digital trends in Africa as well as how organizations could change their business approach, processes and collaboration to enable them deliver value to their stakeholders during the height of the pandemic.

The summit was a hybrid in person and virtual conference that was held in Mombasa for 2 days at the end of February 2021. The theme of the summit was “Digital Competitiveness in a flat world” which was in line with digitization and how it had flattened the world into one common environment but only varied by the diversity of culture and people and how innovation was a key yard stick for organizations to survive and thrive in an environment that is continuously changing.
